Because tourists are a lower form of life? Not worthy of the same rights and freedoms that we would demand for ourselves? Because the wifi will only ever be used by tourists and never ever ever by any native Canberrans? Because a pilot of this nature certainly doesn't allow ISPs to "test on an inconspicuous area" before rolling "solutions" out more widely? Seriously TOM - whether this wifi access scheme is needed or not, it should be executed with the same care and respect for its users as any other system. If you give censors and wowsers an inch, they take a mile, then they use it as "precedent" to do it again somewhere else. "First they came for the tourists' wifi, but I did nothing, for I was not a tourist..." :-) Regards, K. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Karl Auer ([email protected]) http://www.biplane.com.au/kauer http://twitter.com/kauer389 GPG fingerprint: EC67 61E2 C2F6 EB55 884B E129 072B 0AF0 72AA 9882 Old fingerprint: B862 FB15 FE96 4961 BC62 1A40 6239 1208 9865 5F9A _______________________________________________ Link mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link
