au.pool.ntp.org, time.australia.apple.com, time.apple.com, time.asia.apple.com You could also put: 0.au.pool.ntp.org, 1.au.pool.ntp.org, 2.au.pool.ntp.org, 3.au.pool.ntp.org, 4.au.pool.ntp.org Kim On 2014/Nov/12, at 1:01 PM, Avi Miller wrote: > FYI, > >> On 12 Nov 2014, at 12:55 pm, gr0ve <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> In my home network, I tend to run my own local NTP >> server for this function, which itself sources the time from one >> of the available Australian NTP servers. > > Syncing to just one upstream NTP server is not sufficient (it's a SPOF): > > http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Support/SelectingOffsiteNTPServers#Section_5.3.3. > > We're now configuring our servers with 5 sources (which are internal) and > each of those 5 sources sync with 5 different upstream sources. > > Cheers, > Avi > _______________________________________________ > Link mailing list > [email protected] > http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link -- Kim Holburn IT Network & Security Consultant T: +61 2 61402408 M: +61 404072753 mailto:[email protected] aim://kimholburn skype://kholburn - PGP Public Key on request _______________________________________________ Link mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link
