Linkers, I heard back from my friend who met with Telstra about the NBN change she must make. No choice.
1. She just recently changed to Telstra cable service. Was with TPG ADSL before. 2. They are charging her $189 for installation she thinks 3. They say she has to rewire all her phone points privately, and that she can't use the wiring already in the house. She has 4 points. alternative would be to get a base station with dect phones, which she intends to do. I thought Link discussions were that this wasn't required. Is HFC causing this as opposed to the Fibre To the Premises original plan? 4. Can buy service from other than Telstra, e.g. TPG, but the speed will be throttled. (Oh, really?) So, I suggested she complain to the TIO about the installation charging, which was supposed to NOT be the case. She already has the HFC installation because she's already changed to that data service. What's to install? Can anyone provide direction here?
