The Good Weekend section of Saturday's SMH included an article on
Electromagnetic Hyper Sensitivity (EHS). It's claimed that sufferers
experience various symptoms when in areas of EM radiation, though the type of
radiation which causes symptoms depends to some extent on the sufferer.
There's also apparently some DNA evidence of a protein which might be relevant.

At one time I had a mobile I used fairly frequently, but with an earpiece
intended to keep the 'phone away from the brainbox. Nevertheless, I found that
after a long conversation I tended to feel a bit light-headed; apparently the
earpiece cable picks up radiation which the earpiece directs into the skull, a
problem which could be easily fixed with a low-pass filter. (I now have a
clamshell 'phone with the antenna down the south end of the device, and don't
use it nearly as much anyway.)

Do any Linkers have thoughts on the subject? Obviously, any biological effects
of EM radiation might find a very unsympathetic business audience.

Some years ago I remember speaking to an Epidemiologist who has been mentioned
here before. He had done a desk-study of the suburbs around the Gore Hill TV
antennas and found a two-fold (from memory) increase in childhood leukemia,
even though location could only be identified by postcode which is a very
coarse measure. These results were widely reported, but it is my understanding
that phase-two of the study was cancelled.
