Hmmm ... I see a difference here. Your headers ain't so annoying as they are
static. So, perhaps we like
you in a static way.

The stickies that peeve the most are animated, changing size and popping in and
out of existence while
one navigates the page. This distracts from the task at hand and defocusses the
reader.

An example from the CBC:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/slave-lake-still-on-wildfire-evacuation-alert-1.5158914

Scroll down and enjoy the show. Then stop. More show. Then point to the top of
the page and
a menu bar appears. JS magick!

And an example of a mutant variable sticky "header" which is actually a
"right-sider":

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/jerry-rigged

Scroll abut 1/2 way down the page and stop. Wait for it: a "learn more from
M-W" box pops up
on the RHS of the page, near the bottom. Never fails to annoy me while I am
reading a word
definition.

I like sticky headers and on my website www.jevan.com.au I have two sticky
header lines and one sticky footer line.

I suspect that people who say they don't like sticky headers possibly don't
like me at all.
