"Technology is rapidly being introduced to business models to create a quicker, more personalised experience for the Australian shopper. [via their interactive smartphone apps]" It will be a "more personalised" experience? Call me an old grump, but I think not. This assertion confuses a personal interaction between two human beings and an interaction with a computer. "Using data from loyalty programs – and purchase history gathered from phone-scan checkouts – supermarkets will tailor their e-distributed catalogues to individual shoppers." That will allow supermarkets to price items according to the individual customer - a little game where the supermarket estimates what the customer is prepared to pay.
