The Australian National University's Zero-Carbon Energy for the Asia-Pacific Project, is researching how to export renewable energy to Asia. This could be by hydrogen-rich fuel, or green steel, as well as subsea cable. Some questions being investigated are: Would would want these products? What are the geopolitics of this? How can this contribute to sustainable development for Indigenous communities in Australia? I am on the periphery of the project. https://blog.highereducationwhisperer.com/2019/06/creating-renewable-energy-export.html
