Hm I looked at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Document_Object_Model to see what the DOM is: "Document Object Model (DOM) is a platform- and language-independent standard object model for representing HTML or XML and related formats." Now, what is an "object model"? Let's expand the object model term according to Wikipedia definition: "Document Object Model (DOM) are platform- and language-independent standard properties of objects in general, in a specific computer programming language, technology, notation or methodology that uses them for representing HTML or XML and related formats." The document HTML object is represented in Links memory in a platform-independent way, in a specific computer programming language (C).
