Even i also faced the same problem. Then after doing preloading
v4l1compat.so it worked. the gspca version was 2.5.0.

Then i used the gspca version 2.2.0.

With that, the linphone works with v4l2 but needs preloading of
v4l2convert.so., but v4l does not work, the screen is black as u observed
when using v4l2.

This is a workaround.

Anyway, we need to fix the issue.
