There was an article about this back in September of 2001. Check out http://www.nwfusion.com/news/2001/0814linuxibm.html for the details. Basically IBM has stated that if/when Linux ever "grows up" to the point it _can_ replace AIX, IBM is willing to do that. Not only on zSeries, but across all the architectures where AIX runs.
