According to "man printcap' in your /etc/printcap file you can specify the
name of an "accounting file". The parameter is "af". Just what information
gets written into this file, I don't know. It may very well be that you'll
need to also specify the name of an "accounting filter" using "if" and write
some script code to write to the accounting file.

Subject: logging in lpd with SuSE 7.0.

We are using SuSE 7.0 lpd as a print server for a couple of weeks now, and
we just got some complaints from a few users that their output are getting
printed slower than before. Their printer is an HP laserjet with jetdirect
card so it is defined as a remote printer for lpr/lpd. We look thru logs in
/var/log/... but could not find any log for the lpd. Does anyone know where
the lpd log is, or where we need to start logging the lpd? Thanks much.
