Since LVM did not come with the RedHat 7.2. S/3909 distro, I am playing around with MD (software raid) to make multivolume filesystems.
I've read the Software Raid threads in the list archive, but I'm still uncertain which level of RAID to use with the software raid? Seems like my RAMAC X82 hardware raid will handle most of this stuff... so maybe I should just be using Linear mode....since striping and mirroring will be done by the hardware anyway...or will it???? Am I creating unnecessary overhead by running RAID-0 ??? Tia Dave
