At LinuxWorld in January, we announced important new PAM capabilities for
the CA security products (CA-ACF2 and CA-Top Secret). Both products will
include a new built-in PAM server that works in conjunction with an
open-source PAM client to authenticate Linux users directly against existing
z/OS credentials.

While our products can also support the Kerberos and LDAP based
authentication models discussed elsewhere, we believe that something more
efficient and tailored specifically for PAM is a step in the right
direction. We think this gives us a more integrated, secure and high
performance solution than bolting PAM on top of something like LDAP.
