Frank,

I would make sure that your MTU size and TCP/IP buffersizes are the same on
both sides of the connection. The defaults for the two operating systems
are different, so if you don't specify them, you will likely experience
problems.

Subject: vCTC Connection RH7.1 64bit Linux to zVM4.2 (RX/TX handshake
erro r)

Hello!

I succeed in couple CTC pairs in zVM, but in the booted Linux I get "Error
during RX init handshake"

Where I am wrong? Whats with that handshake error?

I did it like that (configs/profiles at bottom of mail)...

login with li1000:

LOGON LI1000

then "IPL 946C"
after IPL and logon to Linux and:

[root@linuxgigaxa root]# insmod ctc
insmod ctc
Using /lib/modules/2.4.7-0.24.23tape/kernel/drivers/s390/net/ctc.o
[root@linuxgigaxa root]#
[root@linuxgigaxa root]# ifconfig ctc0 57.20.91.169
ifconfig ctc0 57.20.91.169
ctc0: Error during TX init handshake
ctc0: Error during RX init handshake
[root@linuxgigaxa root]#

after a while (2 min?):
[root@linuxgigaxa root]# CTCA 1001 DROPPED BY VMIP 1000
CTCA 1000 DROPPED BY VMIP 1001

...and the VMIP guest is dropped from zVM.

I have to "halt" linux li1000, "disc" li1000 , login with AUTOLOG1 to get
VMIP up again, and login with li1000 again to get the CTC coupled again...
