Hi,

I'm trying to install ThinkBlue 7.1a in a virtual Linux instance under z/VM
4.2 and am running into problems. Here is the background.

My coworker downloaded the ISO and created a CD from ISO #1 using
xcd-roaster on a RedHat7.1 Linux system.
I created a 1000 cylinder minidisk on an existing SuSe 7.0 for s/390 Linux
instance, mounted it under directory /dasdc, and FTP'ed the contents of the
CD onto it from the CD drive on a Windows 2000 PC.
I created the ThinkBlue Linux instance and followed the readme on the CD to
where I am booting a temp kernel from my VM reader. I am using QDIO with a
gig/e OSA card as my network connection.
I am able to telnet to the Blue instance and start "tbsetup". I see that
the LIST file is copied into the /tmp/dest/tmp directory, but when it goes
to process the RPMs I get this message for each one:

error: /mnt/dest/tmp/basesystem-7.0-2.noarch.rpm does not appear to be a
RPM package

Here is an installation where I pressed ctrl-c after the first message:

--begin install log--

--end install log --

I don't see the RPM file being transferred (get) anywhere. When I let the
script run, It generates the error messages very quickly, I don't see any
files actually being copied from the FTP server.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jim Peddycord
