I am going to guess that Oracle has theoretical and practical database size limitations. I would not expect that those limitations would change. All tempered by the size limitations of your chosen filesystem. As mentioned here before, LVM can be used to cobble together many 3390-3 (2.3GB) or -9 (7GB) devices for the use on large filesystems. I intend to do this for a DB2 project (hopefully) later this spring/summer.
