Hello everyone,

I just signed up to this list server, and don't want to jump in just like
that. I have been working as an MVS and CICS system programmer/consultant
for the last 20+ years, and am trying to get a grip on this new-fangled
Linux stuff. I have two PCs sitting here running Linux, one of them a
ThinkPad running z/OS under Flex-Es, the other one running SuSE 7.2

But, I'll admit, my knowledge of Linux is very limited (but I am trying to
learn, and while I am doing so, please be gentle with me)

My interest is not that much in the actual coding used in Linux-390, but in
how Linux can be installed, configured, utilized

Oh, one more thing - my signature file usually contains a randomly selected
fortune cookie. I really mean randomly - sometimes, though, what my
computer selects has a strong relation to the current topic - she does have
a mind of herself....
