Despite the poorly written article, I have actually been somewhat disappointed by the test results I have been getting on my MP3000 P30 Linux system(s). In particular, the Bonnie++ test I did last week showed poor results in most area's. Granted, I am running under VM in an LPAR, but I still expected better results for I/O related work.
On the other hand, running Tomcat and a Java/JSP based web site provided reasonable performance so I am not ready to give up yet ;-) Would anyone running Linux on mainframe with channel attached DASD be willing to do a Bonnie++ test and post the results?
