Yeah, that would sort of work. If he's already got USS, though, then he doesn't have to maintain it as a mod, and autostarting a pipeline is harder under TSO (and a lot heavier-weight) than setting up a DVM in VM-land. syslog in USS is also IBM-supported code, I think. Thanks to Malcom for the tip on logger -- I hadn't seen that one before. Cool -- now I can yank all those homegrown scripts of mine. -- db
