Under Linux for S/390 it provides a Java programming interface to CICS. It will allow you to call CICS programs on VSE from a Java program running on Linux. Much the same way that you call a CICS program from another CICS program. You pass it a storage area (the COMMAREA) and after the call the COMMAREA has the results from the called program.
I used this on OS/2 and NT and it worked very well. Unfortunately, since there is now a charge for the code, I haven't been able to use it under Linux.
