I have a customer that runs a 6gb Sybase12 db on a shared E10k. A typical query on table scans is running him ~15 mins. We're thinking that if this is primarily an I/O issue, the L/390 may result in faster throughput.
Does anyone have experience with the L/390 Oracle9i that compares/contrasts to other platforms/dbs? Or is this just too much of a 'depends upon' situation to speculate on predictions? We are going to try converting the db to an Oracle9i, on a 9672-T26 IFL, RH7.2, LPAR mode.
