Does this product work in a Linux-Only environment or MUST it use a
centralized RACF system?

IBM has Tivoli Access Manager for Operating Systems. Think of this as
RACF for the "open" world. This product will connect to Security Server
(aka RACF) on z/OS for central authentication and support Linux on Intel
today, Linux on zSeries very soon.
