ok, I set up a symlink. when i started the program it came up with the same
error:

unable to dlopen /usr/lib/sasl/libdigestmd5.so: libcrypto.so.2: cannot load
shared object file: No such file or directory

The file libdigestmd5.so is available.

And you also installed that rebuilt package I assume?
 From your description I figured it was rpm asking for it. But if
it is a runtime error you could try to create a symlink for it
and see if that fixes the problem.
