What kernel are you running? I have not found a 2.4.7 kernel supported WAS yet. I've
heard it should be GA next month?? You don't specifically need DB2 for WAS, you need
the JDBC drivers that come
with DB2 for WAS to access DB2 on another platform. DB2 for the 2.4.7 kernel does not
have a date yet that I am aware of. We are using NEON Shadow JDBC to access DB2 on
the mainframe, but it uses
ODBC behind the covers which is a type 1 JDBC driver, which is less efficient that
type 2 or 3 drivers(which would come with DB2). Right now that is all that I am aware
of supporting the 2.4.7
kernel.

Subject: WebSphere on Linux for 390/z-series

I've managed to find the WAS for z-series Linux tar file, but as yet
the
only DB2 I've found for Linux appears to be wintel. My understanding is
that I need DB2 for Was to work. If that is true, where do I find a
                Linux/390 happy DB2 UDB?
