Jim:

If you had the CD-ROM package for the WAS product, it includes DB2 UDB
for Linux (limited use license). I assume you downloaded the trial
version from:

http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/download/search.jsp?go=y&rs=wasael

If you have a copy of DB2 7.2 UDB EE (the CDs) there should be a Linux
for S/390 CD in the package. You can use that to install DB2. I think
there is a trial verison of DB2 available, and I am trying to find the
link.
