I'm having a problem using, or configuring a tape drive under Linux/390.

Summary...

I logon on the guest machine.
I attach a tape drive to it as 181 (this drive is a MP3000 emulated tape
drive. I use this as it is easier than tieing up a real tape drive for
testing.)
I IPL 150 and bring up Linux.
I issue: insmod tape390 tape=181
lsmod shows tape390 module is loaded.
df doesn't show anything about a tape drive.
mount doesn't show anything about a tape drive.

In the /dev directory, there is tap0, tap1 and tap2 files.

The "mt" command doesn't seem to know that I have a tape drive.

Of course, tar, doesn't know about the tape drive either.

So, I guess there is something else that I need to configure. The PDF on
the Suse CD doesn't really give me much info. (Well, more likely, it has
all the info needed, but I don't recognize or comprehend it <G>)

There seems to be very little info on how to use tape drives. Can I do a
"cp" to copy to a tape drive? I think "tar" will copy to a tape drive.

Thanks for any insight
