Although I think Alan is on to something here (I have passed these many
times while not going down the isles at Best Buy...), I think we need to
start looking at how best to do Lintel integration with zLinux to
intelligently/transparently off-load some of this CPU intensive stuff to
where it rightly belongs.

Nonsense.  Just go to Best Buy and get a standard-issue USB<->ESCON
converter!  ;-)
