But then, the device connecting them would not even need to be aware of what those particular 0's and 1's mean that are being exchanged between the peers. Could be audio, video, or rpm packages (well, you do want to know it is real-time stuff and that you rather drop packets than delay them). Guess we all agree that S/390 is not the most cost-effective for moving network packets between its interfaces. pSeries would be a more attractive pick. Rob
