Jean-Pierre, I have been able to install Suse Linux 7.0, and 7.2 on a z/800 using an OSA Gigabit card. I found out during my installs ( of the 7.0 system) that there needs to be a small wait for the OSA card to kind of "wake up". After the install dialog does the 3 pings and fails, let it wait a little bit (I discovered this by accident when I got called away to answer a question), then when it asks you if you want to retry, reply yes. At this point, the retry on my machine was successful. I am however having another problem. I cannot get the 7.0 system to shutdown cleanly, or to consistently start up correctly. I usually have to issue the insmod commands for qdio/qeth manually followed by several other network related start commands. I don't seem to have any of these problems with the Suse 7.2 system.
