Hi Gerold,
could the problem be on the z/OS side, i.e. packets are not being returned?
Can you list similar examples of TCP PROFILE and routes for z/OS?

Ciao
Mark

Hello,

We are beginning our exploration of the z/VM Linux offerings. We have z/VM
installed with several
instances of Linux running(1-Redhat & 3-SUSE). I have been able to get
conversations going between
the Linux instances, but I'm having problem reaching my z/OS LPARS. We are
trying to establish a
VLAN backbone with limited success as of date.

These traceroutes are from a SUSE linux instance.
When I do a traceroute to the one lpar that I can this is a sample
traceroute:

traceroute to 143.42.83.69, 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
 1 10.87.31.1 (10.87.31.1) 0 ms 0 ms 0 ms
 2 10.87.20.3 (10.87.20.3) 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms
 3 10.87.4.11 (10.87.4.11) 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms
 4 143.42.7.131 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms
 5 143.42.179.98 3 ms 2 ms 2 ms
 6 143.42.83.69 17 ms 2 ms 3 ms

When I do a traceroute to the other lpars they like like this:
traceroute to 143.42.83.73, 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
 1 10.87.31.1 (10.87.31.1) 0 ms 0 ms 0 ms
 2 10.87.20.3 (10.87.20.3) 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms
 3 10.87.4.11 (10.87.4.11) 1 ms 2 ms 1 ms
 4 143.42.7.131 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms
 5 143.42.179.98 3 ms 2 ms 2 ms
