This question *really* surprised me, because I didn't even consider it a problem when we started up.
I added an exec call in the TCPIP profile to "LINCOUP", and on the TCPMAINT 198 disk, I created "LINCOUP EXEC". In it, I have the Couple pairs needed to reconnect all the Linux images. While none of our images are under a severe load (we're just trying the waters, after all), this hasn't failed to work yet, and we've bounced TCPIP several times without incident or extreme interruption. (Sessions lost, sure. But the Linux images seem none the worse for wear once TCPIP is back up.) Our problem has been the other way 'round. Randomly, when we bounce a Linux image, TCPIP fails to recognize its return, and we have to send an OBEYFILE to restart the line. ---- Robert P.
