Gordon, You should only need to restart the ctc0 interface. Logon to the Linux system console and:
ifdown ctc0 ifup ctc0 You may want to consider connecting your Linux servers to the VM TCPIP stack with VLANs instead using the HSI interface. If you do that, you won't have to restart anything when the VM TCPIP stack is restarted. There are a couple PTFs you may need for z/VM 4.2 to get it to work.
