Chris,

IBM will not license any of their software to run on a Hercules platform.
Having said that, I know of several people who have IPLed z/VM on Hercules,
and Linux/390 under that. It works.

Actually, in one case, it was legal. Adam brought up Hercules on Linux/390
running on z/VM on an MP3000 that was properly licensed. He then brought up
z/VM in 64-bit mode on that, and it worked. The screen shot of it is on
linuxvm.org. :) http://linuxvm.org/images/z900-on-S390-Desktop.png

Subject: Linux under VM on Hercules?

1) Anyone doing this? Does it work OK? Any issues? Which VM release?

2) How did you license the VM release? Issues with that?

thx in advance...

Chris
