Hi,

I wanted to add DASDs (2200-2209) to my system. Well, first off all I added
the DASDs in the zipl.conf. After my reboot I get the following:

# cat /proc/dasd/devices
0200(ECKD) at ( 94: 0) is dasda : active at blocksize: 4096, 36000
blocks, 140 MB
0201(ECKD) at ( 94: 4) is dasdb : active at blocksize: 4096, 558000
blocks, 2179 MB
2200(none) at ( 94: 8) is dasdc : unknown
2201(none) at ( 94: 12) is dasdd : unknown
2202(none) at ( 94: 16) is dasde : unknown
2203(none) at ( 94: 20) is dasdf : unknown
2204(none) at ( 94: 24) is dasdg : unknown
2205(none) at ( 94: 28) is dasdh : unknown
2206(none) at ( 94: 32) is dasdi : unknown
2207(none) at ( 94: 36) is dasdj : unknown
2208(none) at ( 94: 40) is dasdk : unknown
2209(none) at ( 94: 44) is dasdl : unknown

It seems to be ok. The DASDs are available to the system, but I cannot
access them. When I tried to format them I got
the following:

# dasdfmt -f /dev/dasdc -b 4096
dasdfmt: Unable to open device /dev/dasdc: No such device

Do I have to add the devices somewhere else?

THX,
