The 'unknown' means there is no disk at that address in your virtual
machine. A #CP Q V DA from the virtual machine console should show you that
too.

What do you mean with 'available to the system' ?  If 2200-2209 are the
real device address you want to have them labeled and attached to system.
Once that is done you allocate mini disks on them for your virtual machine
and bring the directory on line. After that the virtual machine can either
link to the new mini disks or if you prefer logoff/logon to pick up the
extra disks.
If this is the answer you were looking for it might be you need someone
else in your shop to do part of this, and chances are that has been done
already...
