Well, I must admit that I don't understand this question in the area of
Linux. But there are a number of "web based" 3270 emulation packages.
Generally they only run under Windows. The ones that I know of are:
1) IBM's HostOnDemand (HOD)
2) Hummingbird's e-Gateway ("zero footprint" on the client)
