I recently heard, out in the field, an assertion that Linux cannot use jumbo 3390s. I know I've used up to fullpack mod-9s, and a cursory glance through the contents of kernel/drivers/s390/block doesn't seem to show any obvious size limitations.
If it matters, we're using z/VM 4.3 with at least fairly recent PTFs, with SLES 7.2 (with all or almost all fixes) as our Linux implementation. It's my understanding that z/VM can handle 3390s up to 32760 cylinders now; will I have to cut these down into smaller minidisks for Linux/390 to use them, or will they work as they are? If the former, what is the largest 3390 Linux can make use of? Adam
