"One ring to rule them all ..." I have a master makefile that I am using to re-build the base system from sources. Looks like 28 packages in the tool chain. Actually, there are less, but for the minimal reqs to cleanly build I find that you want other things like Perl, text utils, the shell, and so forth. It mostly works. In fact, I've IPLed a kernel built from such a system. But that was built with a start/fail, restart/fail, restart/fail, over and over again sequence that eventually finished. I'm now trying to get the thing to run to completion. -- RMT
