I'll take this moment to say that the first sentence of my reply should have been:
I don't take such a narrow view. As far as the 'line' goes, there is still a barrier of sorts in z/VM. What is called the 2GB 'bar'. It will take some time for the 'bar' to be as transparent as the 'line' (16MB) is today. The same will happen with VSE, if the development gets that far.
