What is the best way to change the machine name and IP address of linux
system? I built a replacement for 'rockhopper' which is currently called
'nokomis' . I know that the httpd server got customized tor the 'nokomis'
name and IP address. Fairly trivial to change. What I'm mostly concerned
with is the non-obvious stuff. What else gets twiddled under the covers
that might get welded to the IP and machine name.

This is a 'SuSE' installation, 2.4.9 kern.

I could use yast and create a ETH1 configuration... but my concern is that
because Both the old 'Rockhopper' and what is running as 'nokomis' but
needs to become rockhopper are using the same ENTR card, but diff ports, I
am going to have a problem setting up the device. Sorry. That was a bit
rambling. Need my caffeine.

So how screwed am I here? Moderately? Totally?
