This did not happen on this newly installed SuSE v7.2 distribution. The fact of the matter is, I would get an 'Installing' message, then another server prompt all within a few seconds. Furthermore, I could not find any 's390.rpm' files on this VM. So, I am unclear what this command did on this distribution. I am in the process of downloading the suse-us-s390 .iso files from the ftp://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/suse/s390/suse-us-s390/ mirror in the hope that they contain something I am more comfortable with.
