I am using LVM on several of my Linux/390 instances. Only drawback I have with LVM is that I can dynamically expand logical volumes but I still have to unmount the filesystems to resize them. I am considering using the Ext2online patch to eliminate this problem. There is a warning in the man pages about Ext2online not being tested on larger than 1G filesystems or on big-endian machines. I was wondering if anyone has tried Ext2online and had any difficulties with it.
