Leland, I had the good fortune to live in England from 1969-1973. When I returned to the US and watched the repeats, people could not understand how I could start laughing uncontrollably BEFORE the skits really got going. To this day, 30 years later, I still have a lot of their routines locked in my memory and thinking of them (replete with their voices) still brings a huge smile to my face.
Except for Robin Williams at his best (who would have fit in so well there), Monty Python's Flying Circus contained probably the best comedic sketches I have ever seen.
