Hi Folks, Apologies for multiple notes in HTML format. I've been victimized by M$ yet again:
1. I have my settings for LISTSERVEs set to "plain text", M$ Outlook ignored that. 2. I had set the distribution list to "Private" - M$ Outlook ignored that too. 3. My connection (over a 144K wireless link) to my SMTP server timed out several times while M$ Outlook was sending that note to a large address list. What does M$ Outlook do in such a case? Resume sending from the point of failure? Of course not, it resent the note over and over again with those at the head of the list receiving multiple copies while those at the end received none. MSBlast is definitely "not a blast", I've been contacted by at least two dozen friends and colleagues that have it (I had removed it and was downloading the patch when I got infected again). I'm usually behind a firewall, but not when I'm travelling (as I am today). -Mike -----Original Message----- From: VM/ESA and z/VM Discussions [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Schuh, Richard Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2003 3:20 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: A Very Serious Virus Alert Enough, already. This is the third copy of this that I have gotten via the VM list. If I didn't know better, I would think that Michael was mounting his own DOS attack. :-) -----Original Message----- From: Michael Coffin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2003 11:58 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: A Very Serious Virus Alert Importance: High Hi Folks, I wanted to give you a heads-up that there is a virus currently spreading like wildfire on the internet. It is the W32/Lovsan.worm (a.k.a. "msblast.exe") worm. You can find information and additional links about it here:
