There are a number of newsgroups on news.vmware.com that have answers like this.
The OS/2 answer from there is no, OS/2 doesn't work...
FWIW: I see VMware as very similar to VM. Probably more like VM/SP (with VMware/ESX being vaguely analogous to VM/HPO). Remember, there was no hardware SIE back then, or a lot of other things that we consider hardware now. Just like the x86 has no such thing today. As x86 virtualization grows, I suspect you'll the hardware enhanced to support it more fully.
VMware looks like and acts like is more like a virtual machine than any other way to describe it. If you've used VM all it will take is creating and deleting a few virtual machines, or running a full function Linux desktop under your Windows machine to make a believer out of you...
Just my 2 cents worth... Lee Stewart

does anybody know, if it is possible to run OS/2 with VMWare? Is anybody doing this? I have some OS/2 "legacy" applications, but OS/2 doesn't run on new hardware, so I have to keep my old boxes. But if OS/2 would run with VMWare, I could run it without problems on brand new hardware.
Kind regards
