The next time it happens, logon to the VM console, and do a "#cp q set" command. Make sure that it says "RUN ON". If it doesn't, add a "cp set run on" command to the guest's profile exec. You might also want to make sure the guest's console is spooled so that you can see if anything nasty is happening while you're not looking.
