So it got quickdsp and is now waiting for I/O (but that could
be a long term read for a CTC device). From MAINT, a
  #CP IND I/O
might show you when there is a real device involved.

But the 350,000 pages means 1.4 GB which is not trivial
when you have a few more folks in. When the virtual
machine is defined even bigger than this, it may be
that Linux is doing I/O to the pages that z/VM has
paged out. Does your performance tool show you that
the guest is getting page faults?
