                      Linux on 390 Port

I'm a bit out of date on z/VM. I have a number of Linux filesystems which
are on 3390-1 volumes. I will need to move them onto 3390-3 disks next
month
due to DASD reconfiguration. Is there any reason why I cannot simply:

1) shutdown my single Linux system,
2) create new MDISKs that are 3390-1 sized on 3390-3 volumes (3x3390-1 per
1x3390-3),
3) use DDR to copy the old MDISKs to the new MDISKs,
4) change USER DIRECT so that the new MDISKs have the same addresses as the
corresponding old MDISKs,
5) then start Linux back up.

I know this is a "stupid question", but I'm also paranoid<grin>.
