I've been running a Linux desktop as my primary workstation since 1997, when I gave up on OS/2 as my desktop environment. There is a combination of apps I use to make Windows less unpleasant, though: Stardock Software's Object Desktop (yes, yes, they did make a similar OS/2 product first, of which I was also a huuuuge fan) gives me virtual desktops and a window theme look-and-feel kind of like Aqua, and Cygwin and the cygwin rxvt port give me a command shell that is sufficiently Unixy to get real work done.
