Rich, What distribution are you using? With SuSE, they're completely different media so it's not possible to install 32-bit on one system and 64-bit on the other.

I've installed the same Linux media on a 32-bit system (Flex in ESA mode) and a 64-bit system (z900). The Linux on the z900 comes up as s390x, but I need the s390 kernel in order to install DB2 (and be supported).
